Lale Duruiz, based in İstanbul, is an industrial engineer
and a lecturer in İstanbul Bilgi University, with a PhD in
Production Management. She has been a lead researcher
in many international projects. This career has led her to
use digital technology with an analytical approach during
her art journey. On the other hand, the art world gave her
opportunities to work intuitively freeing her from academic
boundaries. Art and science integrate while expressing
beauty of nature in her work.
Her experimenting started in the 90’s with modifying
Polaroid films during development, using pressure on the
emulsion and then adding colors and figures. She has
been using the opposite approach for the last 10 years,
after taking photographs; she transforms and works with
them on an ipad screen.
After years of sharing them solely with friends, lately many
of her work have been used in book covers, chapter
headings, posters and cards, which can be seen in her
instagram account.
